Traffic Modifications for 2023 Under Armour Charles Street 12 and 2-Person Relay presented by Kelly Benefits (2024 COMING SOON!)

Charm City Run Events will be holding their annual Under Armour Charles Street 12 and 2-Person Relay presented by Kelly Benefits on Saturday, September 9, 2023. Please note that road closures and parking restrictions will be in effect from as early as 12:00 a.m. EDT on event day. Between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., people should expect substantial traffic congestion and considerable delays in the downtown area, which will not abate until after the conclusion of the running event.

The footrace kicks off at 7:30 a.m. in Towson (Baltimore County) along Kenilworth Drive. Participants will race West along Kenilworth Dr to N. Charles Street. The race will proceed South along N. Charles Street, eventually turning Left/East on Lee Street, Right/South on Light Street, Left/East on Key Highway, and staying Left on the Key Highway extension to finish at Tide Point in front of Under Armour.

In preparation for the event, one lane of traffic will be coned off for runners along the race route wherever possible with parking restrictions in effect until approximately 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2023. Citizens should be advised that temporary traffic stops WILL be implemented along the race route for the safety of participants.

Transportation Enforcement Officers along with the Baltimore City Police will be stationed along the race route to help facilitate the movement of traffic. Commuters should be aware that temporary traffic stops will be implemented for the safety of participants. Citizens traveling in this vicinity should expect delays, allow additional travel time, and use alternate routes during the event. Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and changing traffic patterns, and are encouraged to use alternate routes

The following parking zones will be in effect along the route from 12:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.:

● Along both sides Charles Street, South of Overhill Rd through to Lee St.

● Along Lee St, from Charles St to Light St.

● Along the Harborside/water-side lanes of Key Hwy.
